Shelia was born & raised in Albany, GA, and loves being a South Georgia girl. She has been married to & works with her husband of 33 years, Don Knight @ his electrical business, J E Knight Electric, Inc. Having a weekend lake house since the late ’80s, she got interested in real estate and got her real estate license in 1991 working with well-known Lake Blackshear realtor Chuck Willcox. Because of time constraints, parent’s failing health & just life getting busier, she stepped away from real estate in 2003; but she continued to be involved in it by handling their own personal buying, selling & rental of property in both GA & FL
After losing both of her parents to lung cancer, she created a non-profit called RUN FOR YOUR LUNGS, Jackie’s run for life, where awareness is raised for lung cancer by one annual event at Lake Blackshear Resort on the first Saturday each November. RFYL raises not only awareness for lung cancer, but with the help of many amazing volunteers, sponsors, & participants, it raises funds for giving $1000 grant to a different lung cancer patient every month. RFYL has grown to be one of the most loved community events @ Lake Blackshear
While talking with a friend about selling her house last November, the real estate fire got re-lit and she decided to re-activate her real estate license… and thru that same mutual friend of April & Joel Owens, she got lucky enough to land at the brand new LandBridge Realty!
